FACUG 2007 Spring Conference Posting Problems
Well everything did not work out with access to the web this weekend, see my notes from Friday below for an explanation:
Friday March 2, 2007Gerry Gerstenberg and I arrived in Kissimmee for the 2007 FACUG (Florida Association of Computer User Groups) Spring Conference, checked in to the hotel; registered for the conference and went to the Vendor Faire, later in the evening.
The Quality Inn Heritage Park hotel provides free wireless internet access, unfortunately though I was able to log in and check my email upon arrival upon my return from registration and the Vendor Faire, I was no longer able to access the internet so could not post updates, nor respond to any of those emails.
I did contact the provider DeepBlue Wireless but, after several attempts by their tech support personnel, who were very patient, was unable to resolve the problem.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I am posting this just to advise why, I did not post each day of the conference.
I am disappointed that I could not update as to what was going on, as it was going on.
The conference was very informative, in regards to user group operations.
There will be a write up providing a summary of various sessions attended, by either myself or Gerry, in the April 2007 edition of C:\BPCA News and I will provide a link to that when it is posted at the beginning of April.
This write up should give some idea of the type of useful information that is available for user group officers by their attending such a conference.
As I go through the various handouts and packets of information, I will post regarding some of them here, while in the process of composing the complete write up for C:\BPCA News.
